Chapter Eighteen

At the moment, Caleb and I were just enjoying each other’s company. We had both finished eating our meals, our foodless plates still set in front of us, waiting to be taken.

“So how was the concert?” Caleb asked.

“Pretty. odd. if you’ll pardon the pun.” I replied, giggling.

Caleb laughed. “If you could be a little more specific.”

“Hm, well for the most part, it was pretty good. Kinda an odd feeling meeting them though.” I said, not bothering to mention the whole Brendon thing. “Y’know, even though they are just people like us. Only famous.”

Caleb and I shared a laugh. “I’m glad you had fun.” Caleb said, grabbing my hand from across the table. I lightly blushed.

I just stared into his eyes and he just stared until mine for a while, both of us comfortable with the silence. “So how was your Wednesday and Thursday?” I asked, breaking the silence.

Caleb grinned. “It was fine. Would’ve been better if you were around, but y’know, gotta have my time with da boyz.”

I laughed. “What did you do with ‘da boyz’?” I asked, using air quotes around “da boyz”.

“Well Jonathan spent 350 dollars on a front page spot on purevolume and we haven’t actually recorded any song yet. So we’ve been working on that.” Caleb replied.

“The world wide web will love you.” I said, beaming. “But never as much as I love youuuu.”

Caleb laughed. “And I love you.” I leaned across the table and met my lips with his.

We’re crashing cars we used to share. With summer girls with summer hair. We’re driving ‘round chasing the stars but the party’s busting up…

I pulled away and cursed under my breath. Fuck me for not silencing it and fuck whoever was calling for interrupting Caleb and I.

I looked at Caller ID just in case it was him. Sure enough, it was. Damn Brendon. I blushed in embarrassment.

“Sorry, I gotta take this. It’s my cousin Brendo…da, Brenda.” I said apologetically. “Wonder what she wants.”

“No, no, it’s fine. Go ahead.” Caleb said.

I got up from the table and before I was out of earshot said, “Hey Brenda, what’s up?”

“Brenda?” Brendon asked, laughing.

“Asshole, you reallyyyy know the greatest times to call a girl.” I said, once I was in the women’s restroom. I rolled my eyes.

“Uh…what’s wrong with this time?” Brendon asked confused.

“Well gee, I don’t know.” I replied, my words dripping with sarcasm. “Maybe the fact that I’m on a date with my boyfriend at a nice restaurant and you called in the middle of our kiss!?”

Brendon let out a chuckle. “Can’t say I’m too upset about interrupting your kiss, but I am sorry for calling at the wrong time.”

I scowled. “You’re not forgiven.”

“Besides, do you know what I told Caleb to answer the phone? I told him that you were my cousin Brenda. Oh Tiffany, you wonderful liar.” I said sarcastically.

“Why don’t you just tell him it’s Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco?” Brendon asked. I swear that he was probably smirking right now.

“Oh and tell him what? ‘Hey Caleb, so you know how I met Panic At The Disco on Wednesday right? Well the lead singer, y’know, Brendon Urie sorta fell in love with me and dumped his girlfriend just for me. OH! And he also has my number too and tends to call sometimes. But y’know, no big deal.’” I snapped. I realized I’d been looking at the sink counter the whole time and looked up into the mirror. Huh…my face matched my mood, extremely annoyed.

Before Brendon could respond, I cut him off. “Goodbye Brenda.” I rolled my eyes before hanging up.

I looked myself over in the mirror before I walked out. I still looked annoyed. “Oh well,” I thought. “Hopefully Caleb won’t ask or my annoyed look will have gone away by the time I got back to the table.”

I just read this whole fucking thing while pausing in between CSI: NY lol and ti's amazing!! You're a wonderful writer, Tiffany!! UPDATE MORE!
