I don't know if I'd say amazing. I still haven't received any compensation from a book publisher. Razzer

It's just that the publishers know a broad collection of words greater than amazing, that is all.

Stuck up, troupe.

I'm hoping to get this updated sometime this weekend. I'm currently in a production though, so I have to focus on that for now.

"Have you got everything packed?" asked Spencer as he opened the door to Celeste's room. He noticed her standing at the window and stepped over to her side. "Are you okay?"

"Hmm?" she asked, looking around as if she had been stirred from sleep.

"Do you have everything packed?" he restated. A look of worry played across his face as he watched her smile with a distant gaze. He slowly took her hand in his own and looked out the window. "You know, it's going to be very different for us when we leave here."

"What do you mean?" Celeste inquired, walking over to the bedside to get her suitcase. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and walked for the door, lugging the suitcase behind herself.

He followed, trying to understand her curiously strange behavior, and took the suitcase from her hands. "I'll take this down for you." he said, heading towards the stairs. He added comfortingly, "Don't worry, I'm sure Gabriel will be okay with us... being... well, whatever we are."

"What are we?" she whispered, slowly closing the door to the room before they left. "Are we really anything at all?"

"I was hoping you could answer that," he replied, setting the suitcase down as he reached for the doorknob.

The door suddenly was suddenly flung open by a rather hyper Kii. She quickly threw her bags into Spencer's arms and flitted out of the room without so much as a word of thanks. Her blond tresses fluttered as she whizzed down the stairs with girlish glee. "Home! We're going home! No more sharing bathrooms, no more dirty living room couches, no more broken beds! Oh, home!"

"Remind me again why we brought her along?" Spencer asked, watching her disappear down to the first floor.

"She's the comic relief to our little story." Jenni answered, stepping out into the hallway with her suitcase. She took one of Kii's bags from Spencer and followed her flitty friend downstairs.

Celeste simply followed after the two without hesitation. It seemed as if her behavior towards Spencer had changed, but he couldn't quite put a finger on what the problem was. He decided to check the last of the rooms for any left behind items instead of dwelling on the issue at hand. Unfortunately, the distraction didn't help for long and he was forced to face his thoughts as he dredged through the empty drawers in Ryan's room. While dwelling on this matter for an unusually long time, he happened across a stick of eyeliner and tossed it into his pocket. Meanwhile, the others busied themselves by packing up what was left of the food in the kitchen and setting it next to the front door.

"I heard what Spencer was saying to you earlier," Jenni said suddenly as she placed a bag of potato chips into a large, paper grocery bag.

"And?" asked Celeste. She carefully dropped a jar into the bag with the chips and took a seat in the living room to wait for the others' arrival. "Should things like that bother me?"

"Aren't you concerned about the situation that you'll have to face?" she chuckled, sitting beside her. "You haven't had to do something like this in quite some time. Why, remember a few years back when you met that young divorce lawyer?"

"I was able to make it through that," Celeste answered, watching Kii flit out the front door with keen eyes. She smiled, then looked down at her hands in her lap and added, "Spencer and I will be fine. He'll just have to accept that we can't be together for now."

"I don't think Spencer will like to hear that," Jenni commented.

"I wasn't talking about Spencer," she smiled back. Her smile wasn't fake, but it wasn't real in the least. It was more of a bittersweet curve lingering on the corners of her lips. "You know that I wasn't talking about him."

"It looks like the others are back," replied Jenni as she stood up and walked towards the front window. "Are you ready to leave?"

"I've been ready to leave," Celeste replied simply. "I've been ready to leave for a very, very long time."
