This is kind of a filler chapter, but if I included something else it would have been way too fucking long. xD

Chapter 4:
“You know,” Gabe mumbles, “if you stopped laughing now, it would be really great.” The two of them are back at their apartment now. The two of them are sitting on the couch (well, Alex is doubled over laughing, his feet on Gabe’s thighs, but you get the picture). Gabe’s still pissedangryconfused and Alex is not really helping. At all.

“Are you kidding me?” Alex chokes out, barely breathing from endless laughter. His face is a bright red. “You just got denied by a guy that wears a shorter skirt than Vicky – T! A guy!” Gabe’s lips are a tight line. It’s not just a guy. William’s something more than that.

“This guy has a fucking name,” Gabe snaps, looking up from where his eyes were securely on the floor. The tone of Gabe’s voice makes Alex stop. Gabe has always been a comedian about things, even when the two got caught making out in the supply closet of their old work. Gabe’s never snapped like that.

“Dude,” Alex starts, getting up from his position and sitting next to Gabe, “You’re really into this William guy, huh?” Gabe can only nod. He doesn’t know anything about William but a name, but that’s drawing Gabe even closer to him. Gabe wants to know William, wants to make William smile again like he did in the mall.

Alex huffs out a breath. The two friends are silent for a while, honking horns from cars and the occasional blast of music is the only thing that gets through the walls of the apartment. Alex looks deep in thought before saying, “Well, then, I guess we better find this guy and get you two together.” Alex gets up from the couch and walks toward a chair designated to a pile of hoodies.

“What?” Gabe asks, head snapping up to meet Alex. His eyes are wide and when he gets up from the couch, he trips over his own two feet. “Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no, no Alex. Fuck no. I’m not getting you into this.”

Alex rolls his eyes and puts on a black hoodie. “Too late for that. You’ve just been gushing about this guy for weeks. You sound like a 12-year-old girl, Jesus.” Alex is halfway out the door when Gabe looks at him with wide eyes.

“I have not been gushing!” Gabe looks shocked at first, but A Look from Alex makes him close his mouth and mumble, “Okay, maybe a little.” Alex smiles and pats Gabe on the shoulder. Gabe smiles back. Now he remembers why he’s best friends with Alex. Alex knows how he works, how he ticks. And if his ticker is broken, Alex can fix it.

“So, c’mon, my Spanish Giant,” Alex yells gallantly, jumping into the hallway. He points a finger to the elevator, “Let us find your cross dressing prince!” Gabe laughs for the first time since the mall and follows Alex down the hall.

“How are we going to find William?” Gabe asks, confused. They didn’t take a car or a cab, so where ever they were going wasn’t very far. Alex and Gabe weave between the other people walking on the street. “It’s not exactly easy to find one person in fucking New York City.” Gabe ignores the fact that he’s seen the person consecutively two times in a few weeks. Alex doesn’t call him on it.

Alex looks up at Gabe and grins. “You’ll see.”

THAT WAS LONGER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE.

Oops.

BUT YAY ME FOR NOT TAKING A MONTH TO UPDATE!
