Ryan's POV

"Take a deep breath, let it out. Okay. Tell

me why you don't want to go to the concert."

The Psychiatrist asked.

"For one thing," I croaked, "I have to sing in

Behind the sea and Mad as Rabbits, and my

throat's killing me. And, My guitar has a

broken string, which means more work and money

from me,"

"Have you told your bandmates this?" her calm,

soothing voice asked. I wished I could see

her, but I was blindfolded when she came in.

"I tried, but I couldn-" my voice broke off. I

tried to talk, but couldn't.

"It seems like you have laryngitis," she told

me. I rolled my eyes. Now they would have to

not let me sing and go to the concert!

"I'm also a doctor, and here's what I say. You

have to not try to talk, and drink lots and

lots of water. Stay away from dairy and acidic

drinks, like orange juice. Try not to cough."

she instructed, and I nodded.

"Our session is over then!" she said, and

removed my blindfold. I blinked, and saw what

she looked like. A tall, black-haired lady

stood, blinking at him with gorgeous hazel

eyes.

"Goodbye!" she called as, once I payed her, I

walked out onto the rainy street.

"RYAN! What did she say?" Brendon raced up to

me. I pointed at me, and did actions for

"can't talk." Your not allowed to talk? Why?"

he asked, and I walked inside, and pointed at a

notepad.

"Do you want some paper?" The lady at the desk

asked. I nodded, and she gave me some, and a

pen. I quickly scribbled down what the lady

had told me, and gave the woman at the desk 5

dollars. Running outside with the papers, I

thrust them at Brendon.

"That's terrible!" he said after a few minutes,

and I realized that it was starting to rain. I

tapped him on the shoulder, and pointed at the

sky, and he quickly understood.

"Come on, we don't want you to get any more

sick," he said, and we raced to a taxi.

"Where to?" asked the driver, and Brendon spoke.

"To the hotel, the only one in town."

The driver nodded, and we drove away in silence.

Chapter 2

Ryan's POV



I'm bored. I can't talk, I feel horrible, Ive

seen every show on TV, read every book that the

guys get me, and I'm STILL sick!

We've missd about 11 concerts, and fans are

beggining to turn their backs on us.



"Supper!" Brendon said in an annoying sing-song

voice. I scrabbled up to eat what he'd brought

me. It was a plate of pasta, and a gigantic

glass of water. I gulped it down quickly, and

began to play my guitar. I played the notes

for Nine in the afternoon, and Brendon soon

caught on, and played piano ad sang. Spencer

and Jon raced in, and started playing with us.

It was the first practice we'd had in

ages!!!

Brendon's POV

Ryan's constant coughing filled the room.

It had now been 2 weeks since he got sick, and

now he was getting worse. He wouldn't sleep,

eat, or drink, despite our efforts. All he

would do was write down lyrics, and through

them out.

"Ry-Ro, eat. drink. then sleep." I instructed.

He shook his head and scribbled down NO!.

"Yes." I said, and shoved the tray at him.

He turned away. "JON, SPENCER!" I yelled.

"HE'S NOT EATING AGAIN!" They ran in at once,

and restrained him while I forced a spoonful of

soup into his mouth. We had gotten used to

doing this. We would have to do this

everyday. Two would restrain, one would feed.

I shoved the last of the soup into his mouth,

and gave him his water. Ryan pouted, but

didn't argue, and drank.

"Sleep." I told him, and Jon and Spencer lay

him down and closed his eyes.

"He's getting angry, and deppressed." Jon

whispered.

"I'll talk to him later." Spencer said. "Right

now he needs his rest"and I looked at Ryan's

sleeping form.

"Ryan, cut it out, your not asleep, so stop

pretending you are!" I said. Ryan sat up, and

glared at us. If eyes could kill, we'd be

dead, right now, by the looks he'd been giving

us. He hadn't been cooperating at all, since

the first day.

"S..S..st" Ryan tried to talk.

"No. You're not ready to talk yet." Jon told

him. "Now, we're going out for supper, so

DON'T LEAVE." Ryan had been trying to get out

every night, when we went to a resturaunt for

dinner.


We came in laughing, to find Ryan wasn't

there. He had dissapeared.

Wow.... How long did it take?

i was writing it during my classes so like the whole day then i wrote some at home too
so about a total of three maybe four hours
