Chapter 7: Your Mom's a Birdie

Brent burst through the door just as Beckett left. I rolled my eyes.
"You couldn't have done the whole bursting through the door about 2 and a half minutes ago? Hell even thirty seconds ago would have been appreciated." I complained and flopped on my bed. Brent walked over to me looking apprehensive.
"He didn't do anything to you did he? Pete will have me castrated if I let something happen to one of his friends." Brent asked carefully watching me.
"Nothing happened Wilson, your baby spawn are going to survive." I responded staring at the ceiling again. Brent sat down on the bed next to me.
"What's with you and the vampires? They all have a thing for you." Brent said quietly, probably thinking that I'd get pissed and yell at him. I just laid there and thought about it.
"I really don't know why every vampire and his undead grandpa are after me but I don't really appreciate it. It means there are more to kill." I said thinking aloud. Brent got a thoughtful look too. He stood up and headed for the door.
"Get some rest, we're calling Pete as soon as Maggie gets here tomorrow." Brent said as he left. I just nodded and rolled back into the covers. I'm getting really sick of all of these people randomly showing up in my warehouse....

Now for most people waking up in the morning is a good thing. Means your not dead. However, I would rather not wake up in the wee hours of the morning than wake up to none other than Brent in an apron stating the sentence 'I Kiss Better Than I Cook'.
"Wilson, it's like 7 in the fucking morning. I'm tired , the hell are you getting me up?" I inquired ready to nail him with a pillow whether his answer was plausible or not.
"It's breakfast time and Maggie is here. I thought you might want to meet her." Brent responded cheerily. I bolted out of bed and rushed down the stairs, successfully causing me to fall on my face as I accidentally skipped the last step and slid. A loud crash came as my face collided with the wooden floor. As I got up I noticed a new pair of shoes in front of me.
"So you're the human Brent told me about?" A female voice asked. I stood up straight and looked at whom I assumed was Maggie, she was short and blonde, she didn't look crazy but then again you never know.
"Yeah, and you must be the vampire Brent told me about." I responded looking her over some more, she made me feel tall. I think I could take her.
"I think you're shoes are like monkeys." She said randomly. I looked down at my shoes and Maggie flicked me in the nose.
"Oh no you didn't!" I roared. She DID NOT just flick me in the nose.
"That's right, I went there!" She yelled back at me. I glared her down.
"YOUR MOM WENT THERE!!" I screamed back. Then we both fell over laughing on the ground. Brent descended the stairs and stared at us both on the ground. From his perspective he probably saw a vampire hyperventilating from laughter and a certain hunter rolling around and unable to breathe. I don't doubt that he is 100% positive that we are both criminally insane.
"Oookkkkayyyy....so you two are getting along better than I thought you would...." Brent said watching us slowly calm down. I smiled, between gasps of breath, at him. He just shrugged and walked into the kitchen.

"So shouldn't you be like burning up and into dust now?" I said noticing the sun hitting Maggie's skin as we sat down and ate pancakes. She just smiled at me.
"I'm a daywalker. We're not too common a species and a deadly one for hunters. Good thing I'm on your side, huh?" She said looking at the sun out the window. I nodded noting how dangerous it could be if she were not on ourside. She could kill us when we least expected it, the only time humans were safe was a lie.
"Interesting, so when you turned you were just a daywalker? Just like that?" I asked stuffing pancakes into my mouth. Brent burnt his hand and swore over by the stove.
"It was actually an acquired ability. You see I was turned by a previous daywalker who found my survival instinct amusing, though I hear there are other ways of becoming a daywalker, but it was not a fun day when I was turned. Ruined the last 26 years of my life. Of course, not that you could tell, I mean I look much younger." She explained while reaching for the syrup. Brent sat down next to us and we all chatted over plans for saving Terra.

It had been an awesome day, Maggie and I had become instant friends which was surprising because I hate vampires. I walked the late streets with a smile on my face. I hadn't gotten to hunt since Terra was kidnapped, I hadn't really been in the mood. However, now I had more help too. Maggie was hunting from the rooftops and Brent was three blocks over. This was so much more efficient.
"Ey' there preeeeett-AY laaadddyyyy." A drunken slurr called to me from behind. I turned around. It was a big dude. No seriously, this guy was BIG, like the homosexual trucker dude that Brent had to trade big macs with, BIG! However, he also had fangs. I smiled.
"Hi there yourself. You wouldn't happen to mind walking a defenseless girlie like myself to her appartment?" I asked looking nervous and cute. He pretty much raped me with his eyes. Ew.
"Eff co'urseeee." He responded. Then off we were. We had only walked about two blocks down the street before an acceptable alleyway presented itself to my new pal. He, as expected, shoved me into the alley and covered my mouth. I grinned at him.
"Mmmm you smell better than any girlie I've ever seen." He breathed. I made a face.
"As flattering as that is," I stated and swung my leg back. "I'm not a fan of drunks". I kicked him in the balls. He yelped and keeled over screaming about me being a stupid bitch or something.
"Your mom." I mumbled as I pulled out Mr. Pointy from my jacket pocket. I looked over to see how Mr. Big was doin' and he was still spilling out things that I don't think any of you are old enough to hear without being throughly corrupted.
I lifted the stake and just as I was about to plunge it through, a knife shot through Mr. Bigmac's face from above and he turned to dust. I looked up expecting to see a grinning Maggie but instead I met the eyes of the last person I was ready to see yet. Ryan Ross jumped down from the building above me and landed gracefully in my face.


I love cliffies. They are the verrryyy best things in the world, that is unless you're the one reading them.
