CHAPTER ONE

Coraline was early. As usual. Her bright pink


hair stood out in the morning sun as she looked


at her new school. High School. A new


beginning.


"CORALINE!!" Lilah screeched, running to


embrace her friend. Coraline laughed. "Hello,


Lilah!" she cried. Lilah laughed again, but her


expression changed as she pointed past me. I


whirled around to see Jon and Spencer, the most


popular boys last year approaching us. I


gulped. I had the BIGGEST crush on Spencer.


Spencer smiled at me. I felt my heart race as


he bent down to kiss me.

sorry, had to say it. i think this may be interesting. not much suspense, but it has potential

if you want to start a new one, i can help. draw it along, make things dramatic, add filler, the works!

and frankly, this isn't the best story i've read. sorry, but i do see potential in your writing!

I awoke. Of course, it was too good to be true.

Spencer was deeply in love with some girl named

Halle. Wow. How could he love her? She was

rude and annoying. BRRRRING! BRRRING! The

silver cellphone on my bed-side-table rang

loudly. Groaning, I stretched over to pick it

up, ending up dropping it. "Great." I muttered,

and bent over to pick it up. Checking the

caller, I flipped it open.

"Hey Lilah." I said, half asleep. This was

Saturday. There was one week of summer left!

"HI CORALINE!" Lilah's hyper voice screamed

through the phone, making my ears bleed.

"YOW!!" I cried. I could hear Lilah gasp.

"SORRRRY!" she wailed, and burst into tears.

I rolled my eyes. Lilah was SOOO sensitive!

"It's okay...don't cry!" I assured her.

"Okay!" In an instant, she cheered up. I rolled

my eyes again.

"Lilah, sometimes you scare me. Really, you

do!" I confessed and she laughed.

"Well, that's me!" she was grinning, I could

tell. I knew her too well.

"So, do you want to hang out at the mall

later?" she asked. Lilah was a real girly-girl.

I flipped my long braided pink hair over my

shoulders. "Sure!" I said, glancing over my

shoulder to check my baby brother Xander was

still asleep. "Lunch?" I asked.

"Lunch."

"Mkay, bye!" I said cheerfully, and shut the

phone. Yawning, I pulled on my favourite

T-shirt and jeans, and went down to get some

breakfast. My mom, as usual, was scurrying

about the house making sure that my 3 siblings

were still asleep. "Oh, hi, Coraline!" she

greeted me. "Why are you up so late? It's

nearly lunch!"

I gasped, and ran to the kitchen, quickly

fixing myself a bowl of cereal, gulping it down

in huge bites. When I was done, I grabbed my

jacket, and swung open the door, when my mom

poked her head into the hallway. "And where are

you going?" she asked. "Mall. With Lilah." I

told her, and, when she nodded, briskly raced

to the mall, not noticing the new kid in town(I

think his name was Brendon or something) was

watching my every move.
