Help me Sleep
Olivia’s POV
My life is tacky and slow moving.
These cheap sheets I brought to cover my bed last week don’t stand a chance against the winter.
I can’t stand the cold air that still makes its way through my window when its closed.
I should be doing something.
My alarm clock has been going off for the past five minutes.
The ringing sound doesn’t bother my ears.
I’ve heard worse things that would make my ears bleed.
Like those open mike nights at the Bates bar that I frequent with my art school alumni.
No I’m not that type of girl. The one who swoons over boys and poetry.
Id most likely swoon over a boy brings a box of wine to a house party.
Not that I’m cheap or anything.
I need to go out and get a job. . .or at least get a roommate to pay half or all of the rent.
All if there are extra nice.



Gabe’s POV
I sit in the background of the living room.
My friends are trying to find a way to ‘signalize’ couples names.
They as in Ry, Brendon, and Billy Beckett.
Why people are here at My house this early is a mystery.
Im not really a morning person.
“Rome.” Billy shouts out loud. They had been quiet in thinking for a long time.
“Yea!!!” Brendon yells and Billy and him share victory while Ryan just watches silent.
“No you guys suck. Forget it.”
“Mere would hate that.” Ryan yells at Brendon.
He takes thing a little too serious. He’s the uptight one out of us.
“Your mom would hate that.” I speak up.
“Go back to your emo corner gabanti.” Ryan hisses at me.
“Calm it down.” I say.
“PMS?” Bill asks me.
“When’d you get here?” Brendon asks me with a great big smile.
Hes the one happy to have friends show up at his house unannounced and at 2.
Me. . .not so much.
“This is my house.” I laugh at him.
“Really? Nice. . .” Brendon whistles.
We all laugh at him.
“So how’s Gabgenie doing?” Billy asks over Brendon’s giggling.
“Great name.” Ryan mutters as he chews on a hang nail.
“HEY! Didn’t you guys like break up eight days ago?” Brendon asks.
“More like around Christmas.” I say sinking back into my chair.
“OH yea the Christmas we spent at the strip club to sheer you up. I remember.” Billy says with a sick grin.
All that trip did for me was give me a worse hangover.
“Well I knew it was eight something. Just 08.”
“Any new girls? Any new play?” Will asks leaning over to ask me this like it’s the secret of life or something.
“No.”
“When the last time you hit that Gabe?” Brendon asks.
“Shut up!” I yell and leave the room.
They really know how to make a guy forget a girl don’t they?
I had shut myself up in my room.
This had been the first break up that made me not want to get back out there.
I was afraid actually to get hurt again.
And im never that type of guy.
I miss Angie.
I met her thanks to Vicky.
I met her at some all night dance party.
Something really odd that I didn’t even want to go to in the first place.
But I went when I heard it was gonna be kinda like a rave.
I just needed a distraction from her. . .
Brendon could help me with that.
