Chapter 1



"Hey Shannon!" a voice called. I whisked around

to see my little cousin Martin, as usual.

"What do you want, Martin?" Martin grinned.

"Oh, if that's how your going to treat me, I'm

not going to give you this Panic at the Disco

ticket!!" I gasped. "GIMME!!!" I yelled, and

made a grab for it. He smirked, and ducked.

"You brat!" I screamed as he threw a snowball

at my face. I heard his laughter, slowly dying

away.

Where on earth had he gotten that ticket? Their

next concert was sold out...Weird.

"You know it was a real ticket, right?" I heard

a quiet voice ask. I turned to see my friend

Amy standing a few metres behind me. I

shrugged and smiled. "He'll come back." I

assured her. "He had 3 tickets, I'm pretty

sure. I'll noogie him until he gives both of us

one," I grinned, imagining it. She laughed.

"Let's go home. I'm cold!" I told her, and we

raced to our shared apartment.

"Here's your tickets..." Martin said when he

got home. Martin was an orphan, so he lived

with us.

I snatched the tickets. "Thank you so much!!" I

whispered. I was in love with their drummer,

Spencer, while Amy liked Jon. Ryan was dating

some super-model Ophelia Mran(They'll break up,

but he's taken after that), whilst Brendon was

engaged by an ordinary girl Maggie. (lol Crazy

Sparkle Monster!). "So, when is the concert?" I

asked Martin. "Tonight!" he said excitedly.

"And these come with early entry AND

M&G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

He was grinning like he was 4. He was actually

15, and Amy and I were 19. Amy and I worked at

a small animal shelter down the street.

Thinking of work, I looked at my watch. "Damn.

We're late for work!" I muttered, and pulled

Amy out onto the cold snowy street. "What

the-OH MY GOSH WORK!" she gasped, and ran

towards the Paw and Claw Shelter.

An unhappy Sierra was waiting for us. "YOU are

late!" our friend told us, and smiled, rolled

her eyes, and pulled us inside. "Anyway, guess

what!" I told her. "What?" she asked. "WE'RE

GOING TO THE PANIC AT THE DISCO CONCERT

TONIGHT!!!!!" I screamed happily. She stared at

us. "O.M.G. So am I! I have M&G and Early

Entry! O.M.G" She said and we giggled. "Did you

just say OMG?" Amy asked. Sierra nodded. "By

the way, do I have news for you!!!" she said.

"What?" Amy and I asked in unison. Her face

broke into a grin, spreading from ear to ear.

"Panic is coming to choose pets in about 30

minutes!!!!" she screamed. We screamed. "Jon is

looking at cats, Spencer at rabbits and Brendon

and Ryan at dogs!!" She cried happily. I

cheered in my mind. I worked in the "other

animals" part, like rats and bunnies. I was the

only one who worked in that section, as it was

the smallest, as well as the fact that there

were only 5 people who worked there! Sierra,

Amy, our boss Julia, the caretaker Fay, and

me.

Amy worked with the cats, and Sierra with the

dogs.

"Gotta go get ready, bye!" I called as I

stepped inside the room that was my section.

Walking over to the corner where the rabbits

were, I looked into the one cage that made me

most happy. Gloria, a rabbit I was adopting

soon, had had some babies that were

now old enough to be adopted; Mary, Claire,

Jack, Charlie, Lauren and Renee. I went through

my usual routine of feeding. "Hi..." a female

voice said. I turned to see a woman standing

beside the a rat's, Elaine and Lillian's, cage.

"Are these sweethearts up for adoption?" I

nodded. "Their names are Elaine and Lillian. I

delivered them myself." I said proudly. It was

true. It was imposible to contact a vet one

night, during a blizzard, and everybody knew I

was learning to be a vet, so they had turned to

me. The woman smiled. "How much?" she asked.

"Free to adopt!" I said. "Would you like to

hold them?" She nodded, and I gently picked up

one of the hooded rats, Elaine, and handed her

gently to the woman. "This is Elaine," I told

her. She smiled. "I'll take them both!"

After that was finished, I checked the clock.

Panic would be arriving any minute now.

I ran to the entrance to see a black limo pull

up. My heart skipped a beat. "They're here!" I

called, and all the employees stuck their heads

out to look. Sure enough, Ryan, Spencer,

Brendon and Jon were there.

Opening the door for them, they smiled at me,

and I feel as if I could fly.

"Welcome to the Paw and Claw!" I said.

"Thanks!" they said in unison.

"Are you looking for anything in particular?"

Sierra asked, and they nodded.

"Bunny." Spencer said.

"Meow." Jon purred, laughing.

"Puppy." Brendon said.

"Arf arf!!" Ryan panted.

"Okay!" us three employees said.

"Come this way into the cat section..." Amy

sheparded Jon.

"This waaaaay to the dogs!" Sierra called.

"Bunny? This way." I faced Spencer, and lead

him to the small room, and over to the bunny

cages. "This is Gloria, the rabbit I'm

adopting, and her babies, now up for adoption."

Spencer picked up Renee. "I'll take her." he

said, looking at the bundle of cinnamon-

coloured fur.

"Thanks again!" Spencer said, as he put Renee

in a travel cage. By this time she had woken

up, and really bonded with Spencer(As had I-we

had exchanged numbers and everything!). "Now

lets see if Ryan, Brendon and Jon have found a

furry friend!" I smiled, and walked into the

cat section, where Jon was petting a small

kitten. "Yup!" Spencer said, and we walked over

to the dogs. Ryan was holding a female beagle

puppy while Brendon was holding a breed I

couldn't identify.

When they had finished, they met us outside on

the porch. "Thanks again, girls!" they said,

and we blushed. "See you at your concert

tonight!" I called as they walked off. Spencer

turned and winked at me. It was a dream come

true.
