A classic. The story of a girl who moves from a big city to a small town and meets a new group of girls who are all dead set on trying to grow breasts and start their periods.

Read it in fourth grade. Plan on going to the library and checking it out... I'm sick for it.

"Svrripvi tibi, dum ludis, mellite Iuuenti,
suauiolum dulci dulcius ambrosia.

I stole a kiss from you, honey sweet Juventius, while you were playing,
a kiss sweeter than ambrosia."

wow... mention of this book brings back memories. I remember one of my friends telling me I should read it because it would tell me about things that my parents didn't.

problem is, my parents (mum, actually) told me all that *important* stuff. on index cards. with pictures. yuck.

she didn't, however, talk about kissing boys. and I believe there's info on that in this book. again... long time no read. dare I say it's been over twenty years?

I read this not that long ago actually, earlier in the year. I thought it was pretty good for a young girls novel, though still pretty silly with some of the stuff in it. Ahh..well..she was only 12, and I'm sixteen, so I guess that makes sense.
