yeah, i love this book too. the sequel is awesome too, My Friend Leonard. i actually liked MFL a lot more than AMLP, so yeah, read the sequel!!

and definitely dont' read the last page about what happens to people until AFTER you read the sequel, if you don't want anything ruined.

yeah, i agree. nothing too much really happens..i mean, he's in the same place pretty much the whole time, so the same thing is happening over and over..and little differnet things in between. lol it's a good book though.

but MFL is sooo much better!! i really liked it.

That's so cool, i was trying to read that book over the summer, trying because i was always busy going to work. I got to around 200 pages, and liked the story line and the way he writes it without punctuation. I thought it made the whole story seem more blunt and to the point, like he intended to write it that way so that readers know right from the start that it wasn't going to be some pretty poetic story, that it was going to get imagery that isn't the best and that it's blunt. Although i like the story line, i did find it very repetitive, unfortunately, school has started and i have way too many books to read, i never got to finish it, but i hope to...i hope you have fun reading it! Big Grin

i never thought much on why he wrote it that way..i just figured he did. but you made a good point, about it being blunt.

i love the way it is written. takes some getting used to and you really have to watch what you read, so you know who is talking..but it grows on you and i liked it!! lol

yeah, i hope you get the chance to finish it so you can read the sequel, annie!! it's awesome!

I do agree with you that the book get repetitive but if you ask me the reason hy it is repeptitive is because Frey is making a point about the lives or alcoholics and drug addicts. I believe it's purposely written that way.
