May be a little difficult to get your hands on the translated version, but one of my favourite books ever is 'No Longer Human' by Osamu Dasai. Worth the read, even if perhaps too hard for everyone to get their hands on for a book club reading. Or perhaps 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' by Ken Kesey. Any Tennessee Williams play would be fantastic as well. Okay, I'll shut up now!
