Hello all! I've taken your suggestions and written an introduction which I posted in the getting to know book club thread. I hope you'll take a minute and read it. It's at the very end, of course, like page 321 or something. I'm glad to be part of this book club. Five years, I'm committed! I like the t-shirt idea. I like the scrapbook idea.

Getting together would be hard, but maybe we could meet in an online chat room or something where we can talk live to each other.

So very happy to be here. Denise

Hey I had an idea. Maybe we could do a movie review each month, either of a current theater movie or something rentalbe. We watch, we discuss. Could make a requirement that the movie be an adapation from a book or something. Like Les Mis or Romeo & Juliet (DiCaprio/Danes version), something along those lines. A lot of great novels were made into movies, Clockwork Orange, Great Gatsby, etc.

We should definitely keep the 5 year plan in mind. I think it's feasable (sp?). You know, pick a central location in the country and just do it. Yeah. It would pretty much rock.

I'd be up for helping plan that. I'm a very organized person. Just ask Kim. Razzer

Bookclub newsletter? That would be pretty cool. I'd be willing to help with that, too. I was a yearbook brat in high school. Well, I was the editor until the sponsor and I had a falling out because she had emotional breakdowns all the time...

i think the mewsletter idea is great!!! we could have one or two people organise it each week or month by emailing back and forth things. and it could be sent out to all of us via email, to let us know things like new book suggestions and new members etc. and new missions and new things like the scrapbok if we do one!!
great idea!!

Okay, so i'm posting this here..i completely forgot to mention it. haha

anyway, Rachel already mentioned how the CWC made a scrapbook for Panic with writing of theirs but they are pretty sure that it never got delivered, yeah?

so, we decided that if we can get it worked out where we can try and do this again, would the bookclub want to be involved so it can not only be the CWC, but the bookclub as well?

Now, i know not everyone is a writer, but if you are, you can submit short stories, poems, works or writing basically, and if you aren't, then you can submit anything else that is creative. do you draw? etc.
It just cant' be "undying love of devotion" to panic or anything. this should just be stuff that you've created....more details to come i'm sure if we can get this rolling!

but the only thing is you HAVE to be an Active Bookclub Member: if you don't know if you are one, just p.m. me or post and ask, but for the most part you should know. if you are new, that's fine..as long as you have posted in the bookclub and we all are aware who you are. don't just join to do this..that wont' be accepted!!

its' not to leave people out but we want this to be the two clubs only, so you HAVE to be a part of either one!!!!

hopefully that made sense. so, right now, we just want to know if people are interested and if this gets worked out, would you submit something?!

thanks!! Smiler

Don't worry about it yet. Once we have it figured out and know for sure we can do this, i'll post the rules and all of that and let you know how it will be done. right now, Rachel just wants to make sure people would be willing to submit something, so we don't just have a couple people doing this.

but basically, yes, it will be your work that you would want to be in the book...and last time there was an amount you couldnt' go over with what you sent in, so i'm sure there will be this time...we just havne't gotten that far yet!!
