I've thought about what it would be like if we could all meet somewhere together. I know it would probably be really expensive but I think it would just be amazing. I agree that it could be a definite possibility in a few years. You know, a lot of us could have our "big girl jobs" and therefore have money to pay for a trip...It would seriously rock.

I'm not sure if this is what Lauren and Krisa had in mind for this thread but hey, oh well.

Ummm, suggestions?
Well, I think this penpal thing is an incredible idea.
The book exchange was alright, too. I mean, it wasn't as personal as the letter writing but it was still good.
Hm, what else? I don't know right now. I can't think. My head hurts. I'm going to bed.

(seriously, a bookclub vacation would be fabulous)

Oh, and I think it was Stephanie who said she'd cry really hard when it was time to leave...I'd cry really hard when we all actually got there. It would be like emotion overload. And then I'd cry when we had to leave.

Haha. Yeah.

awww. now i am starting to cry.

*sigh.. my sister would not even understand if i tried to tell her that i was and why.

it would be really cool though. finally seeing the people you have poured out so much of your life to. I mean.. i know i am friends with most of you guys on myspace, but actually seeing you guys would make the reality of "wow.. these people are this amazing and really exist" come alive. so i think i would cry on contact as well..

and yeah.. i dont think this is exactly what our mods had in mind, but i think we are somewhat close.. right?

no, i would probably shriek when i got there. jumping up and down, craziness. when i tell my parents i'd be like "mom, dad *fangirl scream* im going to meet the bookclub! oh, yeah panic is going to be there too.."

i liked the book exchange a lot. maybe it was because i had a good book. but i usually get lost in classics so its better to have someone recommend contemporary things for me.

"the bookclub. we go there."

Maybe setting up an e-mail list to let everyone know when we start new books. Or if you have even more time, you could set up a newsletter just for the book club. That would be awesome!
But at least letting us know when there is a new book. I didn't have a chance to read Stranger than fiction and I missed On the Road.
Thanks

for the party, maybe we could have an online fundraiser or something to help pay for the cost.

suggestions that have been suggested, that i suggest we consider haha:

1) if you are new or not as active as others, please introduce yourself especially if you are participating in the penpal activity.

2) book club scrapbook

3) book club get-together. perhaps a 5 year plan could be implemented to ensure this idea becomes a reality if people were seriously interested. building a teleportation device was suggested to cut down on plane ticket costs, or online fund raisers

4) merchandise! aka projects!!!! t shirts were the first ideas suggested

5) setting up an email list or newsletter

6) the book club should continue to rock, like nobodies business.

that's all for now.

Meeting everyone would be super cool. The five year plan could work (Begins now...) Oh, I know a kid who started on a teleporter (He wants to go back and give Latin word order.). I'd cry for sure.

A book club scrapbook would be nice. (Do we give it to Panic? Because then, just an idea, we could all make like a page or two for it and then someone could put it together and deliver it or something.)

Merch is nice. And a little promo for us and all.

E-mail list and newsletter would be good.

Clubber of the month is neat.

Oh, and we have a Myspace and all, but maybe we could start up an LJ to post what the next book is and when it starts, because I know a lot of people read over there and don't really know about us. (Or does someone already post on there about the books? I never really check.)

(Sorry for the longness.)
