I have to lead a discussion about this book in English, any body have any points I can bring up.
Also, feel free to discuss the book, it's brilliant.

I read it a couple years ago and it took me a year on and off to read, i ended up hating the book, im going to re-read it though ecuase its been so long. but i was disappointed because ive heard so many people in bands talk about how great it is, and i couldnt find the greatness in it. but my favorite quote/ pages is this;

okay nevermind, my computers deciding to be stupid and not pull up my wordpad, so i will have to tell you later when its not being so weird. but its where him and the girl are sitting in a restaurant or something and hes talking about how schools a terrific waste and a bore and he doesnt belong, and how everyone sticks together, and he cant get anything out of school and hes in such terrible shape, and then she says, yes, you are.

i just loved it because i dont really get anything out of school either.

Dude, I love that book.
Holden is always so bitchy, and I find that absolutely hilarious. :'D

But I don't have any points to add, sorry. ;___;

my friend told me that in every serial killer's house that the police have gone through, they've found a copy of this book.

Yeah, I couldn't finish it the third time.
I just love it because it's exactly how I think and feel all the time.

and i thought that the book sucked. he used the same phrases way too much and it got really boring. i'm sure i missed a general point or moral to the story, but at least they could have told a moral while keeping it interesting!

He must've said that word at least 100 times, I swear.

And that's fucking creepy with the serial killers and all. ;____;

Lousy.
Helluva.
Sunavabitch.
etc.

I love it so much, and I kinda freaked out my teacher by saying that I completely relate to Holden. You know, what with his mental state and all.

Oh, and he calls everybody phony.

The author, J Salinger, wont let it be made into a film. So many producers have asked but he says no. And he's written in into his will that it can't be made into a film after he dies. He's old now, and he's mentally ill. He wont speak to anybody who he knows to be in the teaching profession. And he's a pedophile, apparently.

this is good. people need to start reading MORE and watching movies made from books LESS. They are never as good as the real thing.
