There's one thing I don't get about the whole "it's not alive, it can't feel pain" thing.
If some dude goes and murders his pregnant wife, he gets charged for the murder of the wife and the kid.

So it kind of doesn't make sense. :||:

I believe that there are too many children in this world already that will never feel the love of a family because they live in orphanages. And if more and more children are born that are unwanted, they too will go to orphanages.

The baby has the potential for life, but so do other LIVING children. They have the potential for living life, but they might not get to do so to the fullest extent. More children that need to be adopted means that less that will be adopted.

I think that whether or not a person who gets an abortion is a murderer or not is irrelevant. We need to stop focusing on ourselves and start looking at the effect we have on the outside world.

And I totally agree with the whole over-populated thing.

well it can depend on how pregnant someone is. keep in mind that laws regarding third trimester abortions are up to the states, and i believe in most states, if not all (but i really dont know the stats here), are illegal except for in cases where the health of the mother is in danger.

otherwise, abortions are typically supposed to only occur when the fetus is not viable outside the womb. for the first few months, it really is only a bunch of cells, they don't even know what they're supposed to be yet. that's what stem cell research is in.

and i'd just like to point out that birth control is not always 100% effective so people should think twice before using the "if you were stupid enough to have unprotected sex..." argument.

If you put the baby up for adoption, that's another persons problem.
You have just dumped all your problems with another person.
An orphanage that is probably overflowing with babies that were in the same situation has another mouth to feed.
And in the current economy, who knows when they just can't support it anymore?

You can't just say "oh, too bad. You got raped. Don't get an abortion or you're a murderer." (Not to mention the trauma of rape is still fresh inside the woman's head. The baby is basically a reminder of "a man defiled you and now you have his seed.")
Then what?
When the mother can neither support herself or the baby, then what?
If she's 15 years old and she gets kicked out and both of them die, then what?
A baby costs thousands a month, not to mention costs precious time when the youth should be in school to make a living that COULD support the responsibility of a child.

I stand by my belief that a baby is not a baby until it is out of the womb, breathing.

It probably will but there will always be both sides saying which is right and which is wrong.
Depends on who is in charge.
This is a reason why some girls go to different states to have theirs.
