my views are that it's gotta have a real changing purpose for it to be legalized. it'll probobly not help much, but hurt even MORE.
this is what i think'll go down. help ---> those who need it. won't affect that much? hurt ---> it will be much easier to obtain, people will take advantage of it if they are using it for medicinal purposes, and i can definately see people faking or purposely injuring themselves to get it. Anyway, I don't like the argument that weed is better for you than regular cigarettes.
I mean, homemade joints are not filtered so more carcinogens get to your lungs. Plus, if it is classified as a drug, IT'S BAD FOR YOU. Little amounts or small amounts, drugs are bad. Honestly, I know next to nothing about the medical purposes of marijuana, but I did hear somewhere that it helps with the side effect of nausea when you are in chemo.
A girl I know who has cancer goes to school once a week at most because she doesn't have the strength to go to school. If marijuana could help her feel better and therefore help her get back in school, then perhaps the good outweighs the bad in this particular situation. Again, I have never researched this before, so really I have no idea what I'm talking about. |
