Hire a cheap dj and have a party.
Entrance fee is 5 bucks and there is a donation box.

I dunno I was thinking a Karaoke night but most people need a few scoups to do it.

Are you artistic at all?

If so, you could make things and sell them.

Car wash is an obvious one.


I'd do a raffle. Buy something (like an iPod or whatever) and see tickets for a raffle.

If you wanted to be a horrible person, you could actually not have an item to raffle off (or raffle off a broken item). Then, when ONE person wins, you only have to refund that one person their ticket money back.

But I didn't suggest that.

I'm also thinking Swear box BUT I would be the one to fill it and I'd probably make a grand on a day by myself.

Also, garage sales work nicely.


You could also do something totally random, like setting-up some type of overhang, tent, or canopy-thing (I don't know what they're called; I'll find a picture) and buy/make some pies with whipped cream on them. Then, you charge people money to go in, and they can attack people with pies. (You'd have to charge correctly and budget your money, or you'd end up making a deficit.)

You could use something else besides pie instead.

Christmas cards and holiday cards are good ones.
You could hand-make ornaments or other holiday items too.

I'm thinking a fun run in fancy dress.

hold a raffle. you could get in touch with local businesses and ask them to donate prizes. you raise money by selling tickets, and the businesses get advertising. i did it once for a place i used to work at a few years ago.

other option is sell your stuff on ebay. i made £2000 last year which funded my holiday to san francisco and new york, and provided me with $800 spending money (not including the $800 put aside for food and the $800 my boyfriend made). in fact, i'm making around £100 at the moment which is going towards paying off my overdraft. those are my suggestions anyhoo.
