So today my teacher was like "HEY! WE JUST LEARNED WHAT NATURE VS NURTURE WAS TODAY! WRITE AN ESSAY! IT'S DUE TOMORROW! IM PREGNANT BLAHHHH"

I have no idea what to write.

If you know about "Nature vs Nurture" or have taken Psych or something please help!

It's an opinion essay on what I think influences human behavior more. I'm leaning towards the Nurture side.

oh and for those who don't know

Nature (internal): Genetics, heredity, genes, chromosomes

Nurture (external): Enviormental forces, family, peers, education, culture

I had to write one of these last year. As long as you know the material you'll do fine.

I also agree that nurture influences human behavior more than nature. Just because you have a pre-disposition to be a certain way doesn't mean you'll end up like that. For example, depression. My father deals with anxiety and depression and while that's something that could be passed on to me, it doesn't mean I'll end up depressed. Other good examples you can site are alcoholism and abuse.

Have you also talked about Moral Reasoning (pre-conventional, conventional, and post-conventional?) That also ties in with Nature vs. Nurture.

I have to go to work but I'll get on later to help you. It's 4:20 right now, I work until 10:00pm. Kay?

-Alcoholism
-Depression
-Abuse

I'm in Sociology and we did this about a month ago. A good argument for nurture is feral children. They are children that weren't socialized. You can look more up about how different they are. A good arguement for nature is how a child can be raised in a homophobic home and still be gay.

it's scientifically proven that nature wins. In the 70s there was this hermaphrodite baby born who was a male, but the doctors accidentally cut off the penis and so the vagina was left and through that and the parents "okay" they conducted this study. They didn't tell the kid that she was actually a male. They raised the kid as a female, made it wore dresses and pink toys and Barbies and all that, but the kid had serious mental issues cause it never felt right. It wasn't til the kid grew into an adult and was told that she was actually a he that the kid (now adult) developed real big problems and was confused beyond belief and took its life. I was I could remember the name or the year or the name of the study, but if you do some hardcore searching online, you can probably find it

I am Muse. The one who can't lose.

i think that its somewhere in the middle. there is no SET answer, becuase both influence you. you cant scientifically prove that one is correct, because there will always be something there to prove that the other side has something going for it also. they both affect you, bottom line

I agree. I would have said this yesterday, but I wasn't making any sense.

It was the most BS essay I have ever written. I think she just wanted to make sure we knew what Nature and Nurture was.

She said to keep it to a page haha
