I have to say I am very disappointed in the new album Pretty.Odd. In the intro to the album you tell everyone not to worry and that you are the same band. If you mean just the same people that make up the band, you sure are. But to me that doesn't fully constitute the same band. Same sound is the other part and you went way left field with this album. For "A Fever you can't sweat out" you were emoish. Add that to the decision to do the album in 2 different styles and it made for a killer album. Now you sound like a mix between the Beatles song "Sgt Pepper's Lonely hearts club" and O.A.R. and it just doesn't work. So I ask which of the two album styles are you going to continue to make? Fall Out Boy style? or Hippie style?

Okay, it's very different from A Fever.
But it's still amazing.

I love Pretty Odd, I think it's awesome
they have progressed a lot as musicians
If they wrote A Fever all over again that would be boring
They have grown up and they arent angsty teens anymore
they are young guys making whatever music makes them happy

Personally, I believe you can't judge a band's sound in a first record. When they wrote Fever, they were angry teenagers who needed a outlet to talk about all the anger they had. They aren't 17 anymore and they aren't angry anymore. They've been through a lot the past 3 years and they are happy with where they are in life, professionally and personally. They made a record to show how happy they were with lifes and they've grown as musicians. You can't expect them to make the same music as they did when they were 17.

By the way, am I the only Panic fan who doesn't think they sound like The Beatles? I've heard people say that Behind The Sea sounds like Octopus Garden and I don't agree. I don't think Panic sounds like The Beatles at all. At times, I think they are trying to hard to sound like The Beatles though. No one can be The Beatles, no matter how hard you try, you'll never be The Beatles.

But, I love you anyways.

You know its actually really cool how they change their sound all the time. I mean come on how boring would it be if they sounded the same all the time? I'm sure they'd loose alot of fans that way. And who you calling hippies? The Beatles are absoutley AWESOME, and I think that they should take that as a compliment to be considered as great as The Beatles. Especially since one of their influences were The Beatles. So I think that Pretty Odd and A Fever You Can't Sweat Out were both 2 AMAZING albums and I dont think they should have a doubt in their minds about how good they both are. Btw how do you know Jon looks at this site?

I really think people should stop criticizing Panic...I mean, if u're a real fan, u're gonna love their music whatever it sounds like! Besides, they said they tried to show the changes they've been experimenting, and u can't expect them to keep playing the same music over and over again. I don't care what they sound like, they'll always succeed 'cause they're so talented. They're versatile...how many bands are there like them?
They're happy with what they're playing, and they really took a chance when they changed their style. I don't really care about it as long as they're true about what they write, and they really are in this album... GO PANIC!!!
