Who's better ?uestLove or Matty Dooks?

Hands down Matt's better dressed.

However, how well you dress only sells magazine covers.

I'll be honest I can't decide. What I do know is that because of them their bands have distinct sounds that allow the band to find samples that aren't bass/drumline heavy and still make catchy upbeat music.

Could you imagine Dem Franchize Boyz or D4L over live instruments? (Personally I find it hard to believe in them at all.)

My choice then is Matty Dooks = ?uestLove & that's not just a cop out pick because they are my two favorite drummers.

Maybe they can share the drum line like the veteran Senior and the up comming Freshman.

That one is tough, I love the way matt plays and everything. (It was the first thing my friends who'd never seen GCH noticed when they saw them at the People Under the Stairs show) but ?uesto like You said has a bit more seasoning. The Shit he did for Dave Chappelle's Block Party was amazing.


So I'm going with the Senior/Freshman choice

?uest love... Matty is sick... but if you've ever seen The Roots live... you'd understand... maybe you have I don't know... I just figured that if you have you would understand why I would say ?uest Love is definately better.

I'm Pretty Sure Mista12t (Its the autobiography of Mistachuck... I still like that album, even though Chucky D fell off...) has seen the roots live...

Let me attempt to re-affirm my stance on Matty Dooks & ?uestLove.

A) I've had the pleasure of seeing both live. However, I've had the honor of standing behind Matty while he played as well as chat it up with him (If you're reading this Matt. What's up with your braves...that goes for you to B to the Rad?). As a amazing as Matt is though there is a reason why ?uestLove is a member of "The Legendary Roots Crew," the the band leader for both Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt ten years later show as well as Jigga's Unplugged set, AND band leader for every act that played during Dave Chappelle's black party.

So yes ?uestLove has the edge on our boy Matt. He's the senior All-American. He's won the Heisman & he's a projected first-round pick.

However, Matt's the freshman on the block. He has the skills the raw talent, personality and the flair to surpass even ?uestLove himself.

Looking back on it I almost wish I didn't ask this question. This question is a bit unfair since ?uestLove's been recording music before GCH was even brought together. However, I don't because the entire reason for mentioning it was this.


THE ROOTS are currently the only band in Hip-Hop (outside GCH-someone please correct me if I'm wrong). In my opinion though GCH is growing as a band musically & lyrically in directions The Roots were never capable of. Granted Black Thought is a legend. He's one of my top ten favorite rappers to listen to. The Game Theory leak I have is the album I used to tied myself over until ACASC released.

However, note for note & line for line I give the edge to GCH.

So let me rephrase the question I'd like to pose because it's unfair to Matt to compare him to ?uestLove (or any drummer to ?uest for that matter.) However, I just wanted to send Matt some love, appreciation.

Does anyone hear believe GYM CLASS HEROES will become more legendary then THE ROOTS CREW if they sign a major deal, stay true to their roots, and continue with this as a career like the Roots have?
